65 million euros were invested in the building of the Noorderplaats Campus in Antwerp (Belgium). The project was designed by Lootens Poponcini and built by Interbuild y Willemen.
URSA played an important role in this grand construction project, where nearly 20,000 square metres of its materials have been used. In particular, this educational facility was insulated with over 16,500 square metres of URSACOUSTIC.
This mineral wool from the URSA GEO range provides excellent acoustic insulation. An indispensable quality in a place where classes and lectures will take place, and thus silence is so important.
In addition, 2,200 square metres of URSA 23, 30 mm thick, were installed to provide acoustic insulation of ceilings, while 4,000 square metres of XPS completed the project.
The building is approximately 30,000 square metres large and can hold 3,500 students. The complex has one main building, another secondary one and a courtyard with auditoriums, gardens and an underground car park.
The Campus blends in very well with the surrounding buildings. It has a general feeling of openness, with its central patio, and a design defined by the architects as audacious and integrating.
