If there is one important thing when planning the facilities of a new educational centre, it is to ensure the comfort, well-being and health of its future occupants. For students, for example, it is essential to have thermal comfort that guarantees their concentration, productivity and learning.  

Indoor air quality is also essential to ensure the well-being of the students in the classrooms. When we spend a long time inside a building or a high concentration of people, the air can be stale, causing discomfort and even pathologies affecting learning performance.  

The promoters and the team of architects of the new Pla de la Mesquita Special Education Centre in Xátiva (Valencia) have taken good account of all this. The new Pla de la Mesquita Special Education Centre in Xátiva (Valencia) is a project with a nearly 6 million euros investment that will be completed in the coming months. 

To guarantee the quality of the air and to have a plus of safety and health, the architects of the San Juan Arquitectura studio have relied on the new InCare technology for URSA Air air conditioning ducts and have prescribed the installation of more than 2,000 m2 of URSA AIR Panel Zero InCare P8858 ducts.  

The prescription of this type of ducts for this project was born in Coproven Valencia, a supplier of URSA materials for the whole Levante and Balearic Islands. Its delegate, Jorge González, who knows the benefits of InCare technology, was the perfect transmission belt between the installer, the team of architects and the project management. 

"If it is already important to maintain indoor air quality and ensure the healthiness of the facilities in any educational centre, in this case, which is a centre for students with special needs, it was even more important to take extreme precautions and ensure the highest quality," explains Gonzalez. "The antibacterial technology of these ducts was a key factor for the project management, who did not hesitate in choosing them," he says.  

The team of installers from the Valencian company Termología del Clima has also been involved in this choice. The manager, Sergio González, explains that "since we have lived through the Covid-19 pandemic, we have detected an increased sensitivity on the part of teams of architects to ensure that the solutions chosen guarantee good ventilation and a high level of filtering quality. This was fundamental to the choice of InCare technology for the air conditioning and ventilation of the centre," he says. 

InCare technology facilitates the faster elimination of 99.99% of bacteria using a copper ion technology applied to the mineral wool panels from which the air conditioning ducts are made.  

Copper, a natural mineral material, inhibits bacterial reproduction, which helps to reduce the risk of allergies, infectious diseases and protects human health. In addition, its properties do not deteriorate and last for the lifetime of the building. 

The new centre will have a total area of about 9,710 square metres. It will be a building grouped in different blocks organised around a central corridor, with a capacity for 130 students and a layout that facilitates transit and independent access to each block.
